About Azwad Abid
Azwad Abid is a founding member of IqraX, where he works across systems design, planning, and the engineering behind the platform. He brings a rare mix to the team: the discipline of a research engineer, the range of a generalist who has built across robotics, computer vision, and AI, and the instincts of someone who has taken real products to market.
He holds a Master of Applied Science in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo (where his research focused on pilot control interfaces for VTOL aircraft) and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics from the University of Technology Malaysia, graduating in the top 1% of his faculty with the Chancellor's and Dean's Awards. Before IqraX, he spent two years as a Machine Vision R&D engineer at ViTrox, where he built a “Smart AOI Lighting System” that searches a trillion lighting combinations in forty seconds to tune defect-detection algorithms for industrial microchips, cutting setup time by 90%.
Today he also lectures in Computer Science and Engineering at Independent University, Bangladesh, where he has taught over 650 students across instrumentation, microprocessors, electronics, and programming. He has five academic publications (including a Q1 Elsevier journal), two commercialized products, and six hackathon championships to his name, alongside a parallel life as an award-winning public speaker and Toastmasters champion.
